Freshfield Primary Specialist Resourced Unit is set up to meet the needs of up to 20 children primary school aged children with ASD.
Children must have an ASD diagnosis and an EHCP (Education, Health & Care Plan).
By following the same vision and values as our mainstream school, our specialist unit aims to provide the highest quality education for every child in a safe and caring environment to support them in realising their full potential.
Our provision is a nurturing environment which is designed to allow children to follow their own interests and develop as competent and independent learners. We recognise that each child has a great deal to offer and our planning supports their individuality, efforts and achievements.
As an Inclusive school, where appropriate, some of the children in the Resourced Unit also access mainstream inclusion on a personal level. This develops their confidence to join in and learn with their peers and provides excellent opportunities to access other areas of the curriculum. The provision is highly staffed with all adults trained to a high level of expertise. Every child in Class 7 maximises their learning potential. We are exceptionally proud of their achievements.
