Welcome to

Freshfield Primary School

‘Committed to Excellence: we inspire, grow and thrive together.’

SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disability)

Class 7

Freshfield Primary Resourced Provision is set up to meet the complex learning needs of up to 8 children.  Recognising the continuing work by the school towards becoming an autism friendly school, in Autumn 2020 Freshfield Primary was selected by the Local Authority to extend our provision for up to 12 children in Early Years and Key Stage 1 with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).

By following the same vision and values as our mainstream school, our specialist provision aims to provide the highest quality education for every child in a safe and caring environment to support them in realising their full potential.

Our provision is a nurturing environment which is designed to allow children to follow their own interests and develop as competent and independent learners.  We recognise that each child has a great deal to offer and our planning supports their individuality, efforts and achievements.

As an Inclusive school the children in the Resourced Provision also access mainstream inclusion on a personal level. This develops their confidence to join in and learn with their peers and provides excellent opportunities to access other areas of the curriculum. The provision is highly staffed with all adults trained to a high level of expertise. Every child in Class 7 maximises their learning potential. We are exceptionally proud of their achievements.

We will be launching a new web page for Class 7 and Inclusion later this year.

In the meantime, below are some photographs of our learning environment which we have created to provide our children with the opportunity to:

  • Communicate
  • Play
  • Express how they feel
  • Be passionate about their interests
  • Be free from distraction
