Semi-Formal (Exploration) Pathway
The Explore Pathway provides a low-demand, child-led environment for pupils who are developing shared attention and emotional regulation but find social demands or routine changes challenging. As the first semi-formal stage, communication takes precedence over formal subject content through total communication tools, Intensive Interaction, and Attention Autism sessions. Learning emphasizes building engagement—specifically persistence and anticipation—while gently supporting sensory processing, environmental tolerance, and early play skills.
